In the event that you logged out of the browser, log back into the web GUI (http://192.168.1.1:81).
Click on Services > URL Filter, and right away you'll see Block categories. That's the meat of our project, blocking inappropriate content. Please hold back the excitement for now however, the default blacklist pretty much sucks. You're in luck though! The good folks over at URLBlackList.com have a really nice list. It's actually updated daily and subscription is really reasonable (currently $6/mo). They also offer a one-time download of their list to try the service. So that's what I'll walk you through, but please don't abuse it, because they will ban your IP address if keep downloading the list without paying. (Subscriber to their service? Contact me for instructions on autoupdating!)
To download the list, click on the URL for their site above. Then from their page click on Download at the top. Then click on the link that says "The latest blacklist download can be obtained from:" Save that file someone one your PC that you can remember, it'll be anywhere from 15-20MB or so.
Once you've downloaded the bigblacklist.tar.gz, click on the Browse... button under URL filter maintenance: on the Services > URL Filter page.:

Once you select the file in the Choose file dialog, click Open. The click the Upload blacklist button and here's the fun part. Wait! Depending on your system specs, it could take up to an hour or more to unpack and organize the blacklists. There isn't a easy way to see if it's done in the GUI, so I'd recommend just waiting about an hour before doing anything else. If you want to check via PuTTY you could run the command ps -ef|grep urlfilter and when that returns nothing, it's done.
Once that is complete, you should see many more categories:

Simply check what you would like to block, scroll down a bit and in the Advanced settings section check "Enable SafeSearch" and "Enable log" :

Enabling SafeSearch will force any search through Google to have SafeSearch on. This is a good thing so they will get results they want without all the adult content.
Finally click on Save and restart. You'll now be blocking content on your network! Any feedback would be appreciated!
*note* if you want to make computers on your network avoid being filtered, you can add their IP addresses in the
Network based access control section under Unfiltered IP addresses. Put spaces in between the addresses if you have multiple. e.g. 192.168.1.100 192.168.1.101
