Configuring IPCop Add-ons (1,2)

Now that you have the add-ons installed, it's time to configure them so you'll be filtering your network. Log back into the web GUI (http://192.168.1.1:81) and you'll notice that you have new items under Services:

New Add-ons

Click on Advanced Proxy and we'll get that started. What you'll want to do on this page is check a few boxes. So check these and then click Save and restart:

  • Enabled on Green (this enables the Proxy server)
  • Transparent on Green (this forces any web traffic through the Proxy)
  • URL filter / Enabled (this enabled URL Filter)

Advanced Proxy Settings

That about does it for Advanced Proxy, feel free to experiment if you like, just remember what you did in case you need to roll it back! Click Next to continue to configuring URL Filter.
